Four Simple Ways to Get Rid of Body Fat

Spring is in the air and those days at the pool are just around the corner. Now is the time to get rid of body fat that has been accumulating over the winter. While losing weight does require some changes in your daily life, it is not at all what people make it out to be. I honestly do not understand why and how people walk around thinking that they can not make a change. The truth is, you do not even have to join a gym to begin to get rid of body fat. All you have to do is make a few daily changes in your life. These can be a number of things that simply allow your body to begin shedding fat. A few of these things are listed below. Practice them. Follow them. Make them part of your life.

Stop looking for a parking spot
Look in a parking lot and watch where overweight individuals walk to when they come out of a store. Most likely it is somewhere near the front of the lot. Now look at the more in shape and fit individuals. More often than not they are towards the back of the lot. This is not to say that parking at the back of the parking lot will make you skinny, but every little bit does help to get rid of body fat and to be honest by parking at the back of the lot and walking then you do by looking for a close spot. The sun is shining. Enjoy it. Walk more! You'd be amazed at how much body fat you can burn just by walking more. Oh and, take the stairs when you can. Odds are you're only going up or down a few flights anyway. You'll probably beat your co-workers that are standing there waiting for the elevator.

Stay in motion whenever possible
You can burn up to 200 more calories per day just by shaking your foot or flexing your muscles when you're just sitting around. Everyone has to sit down for some period of time through the day. Why not use it to get rid of body fat? Whether you are at a business meeting, or you are sitting at your desk reading, try to do something that will keep your blood pumping and your body in motion. Flex your muscles, wiggle your toes, squeeze an exercise ball (I find this to be the most socially acceptable), just do something. The more calories you burn, the more body fat you can extremely lose.

Eat healthy snacks
Believe it or not snacking is a good thing. Your body craves fuel at all hours through the day. You are almost always doing something that is burning energy. If you do not snack when you are hungry you will train your body to store fat, the easiest substance to burn for energy. The more you train your body this way the more fat you will store because you will have fat to burn for energy. But the problem with this is that it is a slippery slope. Your body is trained to survive, so it will store more fat than it burns. This is why people put on more body fat over time, not because they eat more, but because their body is trained to store fat.

To combat this, eat healthy snacks such at celery and peanut butter, raisins and cashews, bananas, apples, grapes, oranges, or a fruit salad (all of these will satisfy a sugar craving because they all have a natural sweet taste). When you do this your body will have food to burn for energy and it will not be forced to store fat. You will also be less hungry later in the day, and will be less likely to eat bad foods that will further contribute to the problem.

Water is Your Friend
You hear this over and over, yet I bet you do not do it. Drink water! The average person only needs to drink about 64 ounces of water a day, more if you have had a heavy workout that day. That's not that much. Here is what I recommend doing. Buy something that comes in a 32 ounce bottle. I usually use a Gatorade bottle because I'm at the gym a lot. Now buy a water filter for your tap. Fill this once before you go to bed and refrigerate it for work. Drink that down at work and then make sure you drink another before the day is over. Squeeze some lemon into it if you prefer a bit of taste. I love water with lemon myself. It's my beverage of choice anywhere I go. People look at me like I'm nuts when I'm at a bar and order a water with lemon, haha.

Along with drinking water, ditch the soft drinks. No sodas, no diet sodas, nothing with high fructose corn syrup. Just read the labels. It's not hard. It will not take long to kick any sort of addiction to sugar. Water will flush out your system in a matter of weeks. If you feel you need something with a sweet kick, drink natural OJ or apple juice with Calcium.

See. Now these are four daily changes you can make in your life to get rid of body fat, and you did not even set foot in a gym. Pretty cool huh?
