Finding the Perfect Bra Fit and Style for Your Body Shape

[ad_1]

It's shocking how many women are walking around day to day with the completely wrong bra for their body shape and size. You can often tell these women in the crowd because they seem to be sagging in an odd way or they have those lines across their chest where their cleavage is no longer fitting securely into the cups. While you may notice these women, chances are high they do not know they are among the ranks of women ill-fitted to their bras.

If you think your current bras might not be the right fit or style for your body and size, the following pointers will help you find the perfect bra for your assets.

Your Cup Should Never Overflow

There are some occasions when you want your cup to overflow, but a bra fitting is not one of those times. The cups of your bra should always sit flat and comfortable against your skin. You should never have folds of skin going over the front bra lines and there should never be gaps or loose fabric between you and the bra. Go up or down a size when you notice either of these flaws.

This includes the center part of the bra between the cups. Make sure that this piece of the bra lies close to your skin, rather than poking out. You should have a clean, comfortable line across the cups, down the center, and down underneath the arms.

A bra that is too loose will not properly support your breasts while a bra that is too tight against the skin will show unattractive lines on the outside of your clothing.

Making Adjustments

Most women just assume that when they get the right fit in the cups that the bra straps will also fit perfectly, but this is entirely untrue. You can have bra straps that are not as perfectly fitted to your body as the rest of the bra. Make sure to take time in the fitting room to adjust the straps and find a position that feels good on your body.

Your straps should never fall down over your shoulders and they should not dig into your skin. This will irritate your skin and make your bra unnecessarily uncomfortable.

Lace is not Always Sexy

Satin and lace are of course sexy choices for lingerie, but you may want to stay away from lacy bra styles for everyday comfort. You want a fabric that feels soft and comfortable on the skin and which will not scratch. You can find some very sexy, attractive bras that are also comfortable for the tender skin on your breasts.

Down to the Wire

If you buy bras with underwire, they will last a lot longer if you make sure the bottom portion of the bra is not too tight. A tight bra will be uncomfortable, but will also tear up quickly as the wires poke out from the fabric at the sides. The wire then pokes into your arm and you toss it in the trash.

Save yourself some money and make sure you have a comfortable fit along the wire line without any digging into your skin.

Up & Down

Rather than just standing in front of the fitting room mirror, sit down for awhile to see how a new bra feels. A good bra will fit all of the above criteria no matter what position your body strikes.
