Launch Your Blog Tour

[ad_1]

A Blog Tour is when you actually visit blogs over a specified period of time to promote your goods or services. It is something you can do yourself to reap the following benefits: reach a broader audience; create an online buzz; generate sales; expand your network; position you as an expert; more cost-effective than traditional book or media tours; and increase search engine rankings.

To use this PR 2.0 strategy, incorporate the following steps into your marketing mix to generate "an online buzz" about your book, product or business.

Step 1Create Marketing Materials that contain the marketing message about your book, product or service (eg, an interview, book review, a series of articles, write a guest posts, etc.).

Step 2Build Partnerships with those who serve your target market and have good traffic. Keep the lines of communication open when scheduling a blog tour.

Step 3Organize a Blog Tour by personally scheduling it or hiring a coordinator to do it. It's easier to organize a tour when your material is prepared in advanced.

Step 4Comment at Your Hosts' Blog to engage the audience and show appreciation to the blog host for having you.

Step 5Promote It by posting a tour calendar with links on your blog / website and through social media outlets on every stop. Send your schedule to your network of friends and colleagues on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.

  1. What marketing material will you use to facilitate your blog tour?
  2. What stops will make? List the blog's website and contact information.
  3. How will you promote it? Plan it out; will you use Twitter, LinkedIn or Facebook?
